Wilton Wildlife Park Gets a Passion Project Website

August 13th, 2010 by Shannon-Rose Design

In 2009 Wilton Wildlife Preserve came to Shannon-Rose Design to design a small three-panel brochure that seemed to make them quite happy. About 4 months later I received an email from our Passion Project Online Form,  asking for a website at no cost. They were a perfect candidate for our community-oriented Passion Project program, and it was agreed to help them out.

The site has a custom design and is based on WordPress for its Content Management System. The site includes some great elements that add to the user experience such as sidebar images that enlarge or link to the Wilton Wildlife Park Flickr site.

Of course we have a blog to put the news out there, and with the Facebook update plug-in, we made it easy to update Facebook and Twitter in one easy step.

Wilton Wildlife site includes a PayPal link for donations, a volunteer page, and a newsletter sign up. In the end we created a complete information and communication machine that reaches out to the WWP audience.

We have created a full webcentric communication system using all types of online media, which makes it easy for their audience to find current information about the park. No, it’s not a groundbreaking site, but I would say that it is quite special project for the Saratoga County community.

Now, go have fun.
