We produced these shelf talkers for Heinz Foodservices/Chef’s Quality—each is a magnet that is used in wholesale outlets for restaurants, etc. in the food & beverage industry. These products are bought in bulk and the magnets serve as signage on the metal racks inside the warehouse-style stores.
We received samples of the packets and Marj handled all of the photography. Blaine Miller handled the Photoshopping and designed the pieces.
It was our idea to swap out a plain background for the food imagery. [See image above. Older version to the left, new version to the right.] Turns out, this provided more than just added appeal: customers for whom English is not a primary language were better able to understand the content of the packages by visuals alone. The store these signs were produced for, Restaurant Depot out in California, serves a large Hispanic American population. The new signage made the condiments easily recognizable.
Hotdogs, anyone?
