For the last three years I have been on the committee for the Saratoga Showcase of homes. Last year we gave away an amazing amount of money to Habitat for Humanity of Northern Saratoga, Warren & Washington Counties and Rebuilding Together Saratoga.

When I joined this committee I was amazed how organized and well run it was. The committee chair, Kate Ferris, is an exceptional leader, and is backed by some very professional people who volunteer their time.

It disturbs me that the 2009 Saratoga Showcase will not take place this year due to lack of participation. I’m not being critical at all, it is just a shame. With any good fortune it will make a grand return in 2010.
