Bilinski is introducing a whole new line of prepared meals, they are large enough for a family of four and cook in less than five minutes. I was given one of the test meals to try out and they really are huge, and tasty. The meals are Bilinski’s first prepared food product, and similar in content to their all natural chicken sausages.
A little over a year ago, Shannon-Rose Design created the new branding, packaging, and in-store POP signage, for Bilinski’s. The new packaging had to scream All Natural, basic ingredients and no preservatives. It was decided early on to eliminate the color from the sausage packaging, and keep it simple as basic. We began with a simple brown craft paper texture as a background to the design. We diecut the word chicken so you could view the food. The printer actually recommended a font that was legible and strong after the process was complete.
The title font is distressed and the artwork is degraded to give the overall look of the packaging a letterpress feel. The final product has to meet certain requirements for practicle reasons the final paper is laminated to live in a refridgerated environment.
With the success of the original Sausage re-packaging, which saw sales skyrocket double digit increases in all markets, and triple digits in some regions, we hope for similar successes with the new prepared meals. Bilinski’s hired Shannon-Rose Design for their branding and product packaging.
