Our proprietary content management system, Tryst, is beginning to get long of tooth. We have been pondering if we should spend the time and money on upgrading it. We haven’t found many systems that match its ease of use, but SEO has come so far in the last three years, it is hard not to consider.
Since our site went live I have become very impressed with the Blog CMS tools that WordPress provides for managing articles, images and video. My concern is that an open source system, like WordPress, has something in the works that will make an upgrade to Tryst 3.0 non-competitive in the market.
I have to wonder why it hasn’t happened yet. We have even considered making our upgrade to Tryst 3.0 an open source program for all to use and make better.
Here are some ugrades we are considering: work with any PHP server, add and delete pages on the fly, and multiple levels of password protection. These changes would push Tryst towards an enterprise system with a very affordable pricing structure.
