The Shannon-Rose Custom Desk

July 16th, 2009 by Shannon-Rose Design

We are not an overly neat office, but we have made efforts to clean the place up. The amount of papers piled up on every desk had no place to go, so I created a desk under a desk. I thought this would be a great way to tame desktop pileups.

After a quick sketch, I sent it over to Empire Exhibits for a price, and Craig Koehler sent back this rendering:

Empire Exhibits thought offered up the idea of the shelving to the side. After approving design phase one, we got a color rendering:

Not crazy about the beige color or wooden texture, we had him send some other options. I really wanted a metallic copper top, but found that would add about four thousand dollars to the original cost, so I opted for a black laminate with copper flecks.

As you can see, there is still a lot of paper sitting on everyone’s desk, except for Scott, of course. It’s a somewhat complicated solution to the issue of organization, but a hell of a lot better than sweeping it under the carpet.

And more creative.
