The Hype Machine: Find New Music Every Time It’s Blogged

June 7th, 2010 by Shannon-Rose Design

“Every day, thousands of people around the world write about music they love — and it all ends up here.”  This is the premise behind The Hype Machine, a site that compiles songs from all over the web in real time, every time someone writes about them and posts them.

Whenever a blogger posts a song, it ends up on The Hype Machine, which you can customize to show your preferences in music. Along a sidebar, a widget shows you Concert Matches, information about performances by the musicians listed. The Spy Feed is updated in real time, or you can sort by newest or most popular. A play bar along the bottom lets you listen to selected tracks from the page.

See active users in your area, search songs, share songs across social media sites, and more.

Two other really cool features are the downloadable monthly Radio Show that showcases new music, and the annual Zeitgeist, a music awards of sorts—where music bloggers are the judges.

Set up an account and start broadening your musical horizons.
